Single Women and Real Estate
You probably know someone, or you know someone who knows someone, that just bought real estate on their own. Chances are that person is female. Is that right? Statistics show that more single women in Canada are in the market and likely to buy real estate than single men. Why would that be? Well, it is a truism that women tend to be more focused, organized, and informed when it comes to major purchases -- and home buying is likely the number one major purchase in your life -- so it is really no surprise that women are participating in the market in larger numbers than men.
But that doesn't make it any easier. Buying a house on your own presents a set of unique challenges, buying a house on your own as a woman -- especially as a younger woman -- presents its additional issues.
